Door Jam Stretch – Pectoralis Minor

Why Stretch?
Stretching exercises encourage lengthening of your muscles and associated tendons. Short and tight muscles can lead to pressure on nerves and pain. By its effect of lengthening muscles, stretching promotes flexibility and full range of motion about your joints.

Hold the stretch for each arm position for 10 seconds 3-4 times per day

Hands at shoulder height
Step through the door jam
Feel stretch in pectoralis muscles of the chest

*You should be able to take your hands off the door jam and not fall over. Leaning causes too much pressure on the shoulder joint



Door Jam Stretch – pectoralis minordoor jam2

Move hands up so elbows are now at 90° from the shoulder
Step through door jam again feeling a stretch in a different part if the pectoralis muscle.
